Convention Committee
General Purpose of Convention Committee:
Work with the leaders of IMBA at the state and chapter boards to deliver a format and agenda that attracts a large audience, provides excellent overall value for those attending, and, provides a significant net-profit to IMBA.
Members:
The members of this committee will include a Chair (current IMBA Vice President or designate), and, where possible, at least one member from each chapter. Also, both lender and vendor representation on the committee is preferred, including at least one lender or vendor with state-wide responsibilities.
General Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Convention Committee Chair to work pro-actively with IMBA ED to recruit committee members, set up a schedule of meetings/calls, and, attend in person or via call all scheduled board meetings and, along with ED, provide details of activities
- Determine date( s) and location for the convention
- Assign responsibilities of committee members for; format, budget, registration fees, sponsorship, marketing, and, event volunteers
- Determine convention format as to meetings, meals and entertainment With input from members, discuss speaker and topic options and follow up with speakers for availability, cost(s) and a commitment
- Discuss and determine appropriate costs associated with registration and sponsorships Develop marketing strategies and pieces for exposure to members and outside the association
- Communicate with each of the Chapter Chairs as to event status and select a chapter representative to assist in marketing the event to chapter members
- Upon completion of event details, each member will pro-actively market the event via personal phone calls, site visits, etc. for both registrations and sponsorships
Goals:
- Maximize attendance of members and non-members of association
- Achieve a 95% satisfaction rating from attendees as to content value and cost(s) Earn a net profit on the convention to cover a minimum of three months operating expenses for IMBA
